Collecting Antique Prints
Antique prints are wonderful to collect and display. They represent our history, the method in which scientists, artists and historians documented nature and society and they are a fine representation of the things that were considered important, decorative and beautiful in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Fine antique prints rarely lose value over time if properly preserved. All of the antique prints we sell are guaranteed authentic. We collect these prints from antique books and from other dealers and estates. We do the very best we can to find the publishing history of each print and to provide you with thorough information about the print's condition. The images you see on our web pages are either high resolution scans (prints 8.5" by 11.7" or less) or digital images. If you would like to see more detail on any specific antique or vintage print you can always email us. We will do our best to accomodate you.

About our Antique Print & Historic Map Reproduction Prints
We offer high quality fine art reproductions of many of the original antique prints or maps we sell on our website. We also have an archive of hundreds of sold and unsold images including maps that have been digitally stored as high resolution scans allowing reproduction on demand. A variety of sizes are available proportionate to the original image and for some prints a choice of paper or canvas.
Our fine art prints or "giclee" prints are faithfully reproduced from a high resolution digital scan of the original print. We digitally clean up some image imperfections such as stray marks, tears, fold lines, foxing or staining but we try to maintain all of the original coloring and age toning. Engraving plate lines, paper textures, irregularities from hand drawn lines and other unique original features are all maintained. The images are printed on heavy weight, archival matte or cotton rag papers (smooth or textured) or archival canvas using UltraChrome™ pigmented inks offering the highest light fastness ratings achievable for exceptional quality, vibrancy and durability. We do not print on glossy poster paper or thin paper. We use only fine art papers that will ensure fine color and detail in our prints.
We are constantly adding new prints to our inventory. Many original antique prints on our website can be reproduced as well, even if they are not listed as a reproduction. If you are looking for something in particular, let us know and we may be able to locate just what you want.
Recently we have added some reproduction prints from other collections. Click here for information about the The Frost Collection from our dear friend Joe Frost of Kittery, ME.
