Print states “Etched for the Republican Club and distributed at its dinner February 12, 1892.  From a photograph in the possession of L. E. Chittenden.”  The original print is signed by the artist and states that it is an artist’s proof.  Lucius E. Chittenden was Register of the Treasury during Lincoln’s first administration.  (On loan from the estate of Joseph Frost.)
