About the Artwork:  "For this year's special Christmas print, I harkened back to my youth and looked at Christmas through the eyes of a child.  I remembered, as a boy, dreaming of building an enormous teddy bear in the snow, and here, finally, I've done just that.  The antique chirstmas ornaments and Santas perched on and around the tree have a personal significance to me.  My wife and I have collected them over the years, and every Christmas they adorn our home."  Charles Wysocki, 1990.

About the Artist: Born in Detroit in 1928, Wysocki enjoyed an active and happy boyhood, which seems reflected in his work.  after studying at the Art Center School of Design in Los angeles, he began a career as commerical artist in Detroit.  He soon abandoned it for the more independent life of freelancing.  Returning to California, he married and establihsed home there.

Chuck and Elizabeth Wysocki had a great deal in common.  they shared an art background and the ethic of hard work.  They succeeded in capturing the rare sense of serenity that results from being content with the simple things of life, for which Wysocki gave his wife much of the credit.  Vacations spent in New England have enhanced this feeling.  such are the inffluences that have combined to develop Wysocki's personal style of painting and choice of subject matter.  Hw was in that exclusive company of artist whose work sells as fast as it can be produced.  Winner of more than 50 awards, he he had been in major group and one-man shows from coast to coast.
