Description: Sir William Jardine (1800-1874) compiled and published The Naturalist’s Library, 40 volumes of hand colored engravings and descriptions of all vertebrate species divided into 4 sections: mammals, birds, fish and insects. This antique print is from an early edition volume devoted to Birds of Prey including Eagles, Owls, Falcons, etc.  This plate is  in very good condition with deep coloring and normal age toning of paper. Bound edge is untrimmed and rough.
