Description: These lovely original antique prints are taken from “A Natural History of the Nests and Eggs of British Birds”, by Rev. F. O. Morris, 1st editions published in 1856 and 1859 by Groombridge, London. These are color wood engravings of nests and eggs with hand color finishing, printed by Benjamin Fawcett, known for the finest color printing of the time are on medium weight paper, blank on the reverse. The Morris egg and nest prints have a biscuit color background which varies slightly from print to print. Morris Nest and Egg prints are highly collectable and look wonderful custom framed in groupings.
Age toning and some soiling to paper edges with some minor scattered foxing to margins. Otherwise good condition.
